While out in NYC last week I spent some time with my brother Ray West up in his Bronx studio (more to come on that hang out session). He blessed me with some gems this being one of them. Enjoy and support Red Apples 45. STARCADE is some futuristic shit that you need. For all those Sci-Fi beat heads this will expand minds, taking you on a metaphysical journey. Embrace it. Peep the info below:

DJ Rude One has been a fixture in Chicago’s Hip Hop scene since the indie renaissance of the early 2000’s. As part of the production duo Single Minded Pros Rude released From Now On in 2004. The LP featured reigning emcees of the time such as Kool G Rap, Pacewon, JUICE, Mr. Lif, and more. While S.M.P. went on hiatus in the years since, Rude continued to contribute to Chicago Hip Hop through DJing parties at storied clubs such as The Note, Lava Lounge, and Dark Room. Revered by every generation of Chicago Hip Hop, Rude is feeling creative again on the production side and quietly put together a new LP ONEderful.

This new documentary shows the creation of the LP’s 1st single, “Mr. Goodbar” featuring NYC spitter, Your Old Droog.

The Broad Street Breakdown – Episode 1

The crew settles in for their very first podcast. Top 3 punk rock albums of all time are discussed in depth, with several “honorable mentions” up for debate. Paz, Gavin, and Pablo each come with a three-deep list of genre-defining albums. Who wins top honors of best album ever made? What does Paz have as his all-time number one? Favorite records; favorite record stores discussed, along with reminiscences on buying records in the ‘80s. The Sicko rambles, Cousin Friz is handsome and Scott the Engineer keeps it all together. The Gavin yells at Professor Pablo. Paz yells at Professor Pablo. Pretty much everyone yells at Professor Pablo. Hilarity ensues. It’s the Breakdown.
